Iwobi Pleased To Extend My Contract With Special Club Arsenal
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is pleased to have signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal
The 22 year old joins Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka who also signed new deals this year at Arsenal.
“Really Pleased To Extend My Contract & Commit My Future To This Special Club. From Under 6 To BIG17 So Many People Have Helped Me. Thank You,” Iwobi wrote on his Twitter handle.
“Grateful To Our New Manager For The Faith Shown In Me & Our Fans For The Love, Support & Patience. Excited For 18/19 .”
Iwobi scored a sudden death penalty for Arsenal in the 6-5 penalty win over Chelsea last Wednesday.
Chelsea new manager Unai Emery is delighted with Iwobi’s decision.
“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us,” Emery told the club’s official website.
“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”
